The Vacationland Film Festival is accepting films for its second annual event, August 21-24, 2025 at the City Theater in Biddeford, Maine. Founded in 2024, the Vacationland Film Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty of our beloved state of Maine while enjoying visual storytelling from Maine and beyond.
The festival showcases the work of Maine filmmakers of all stages while also encouraging visitors to visit the beautiful Biddeford-Saco-Old Orchard Beach region with its exciting, renewed downtowns and relaxing beaches, at the peak of the vacation season in August.
Films (or even film recommendations) are most welcome and can be submitted here.
There is no submissions fee this year, but please do send us at least a trailer to review as well as a brief note about your film. Where has it been? What was your motivation? What did you learn? In other words, think of possible Q&A questions and answers. We are most especially happy to see films that help us build community and start positive dialogue.
For the actual screening in August, films should be in a format that we can play from a file on a Mac laptop or a BluRay. No DCP yet.
